ESC 2034: Machine Echoes

‘Machine Echoes’ is the first of three group exhibitions in the ESC 2034 series curated by 0-1 Gallery. By exploring the futures of nature and technology, the exhibition covers themes such as artificial intelligence, the transformation of communication, and the future of ecological awareness. From digital phenomena to ecological sculptures, each work invites us to reflect on these evolving relationships. Additionally, each piece challenges us to rethink how we interact with our environment, offering a glimpse into the decade ahead — a conversation between nature and technology.

Established in 2020 as a digital initiative, the ESC platform has consistently pushed the boundaries of contemporary art. Each year’s theme, ‘A decade into the future,’ invites artists to imagine what the world might look like ten years from now.

Now, this exhibition marks a significant milestone for 0-1 Gallery as ESC transitions from an online format to its first physical event. After receiving over 600 submissions, 27 artists were selected to participate in the ESC 2034 series. ‘Machine Echoes’ will feature the first group, setting the stage for a thought-provoking exploration of our shared future.

Finally, ‘Machine Echoes’ will take place at Seelab () in The Hague, Netherlands, from October 19-26, providing a more immersive and impactful experience.
